Alumni Profile
Farshad Pourmalek joined the Post-Graduate Fellowship program in 2009 and worked with the Causes of Death and Global Burden of Disease research teams. He also worked on a cause of death study for Iran.
Dr. Pourmalek is now an Assistant Professor in Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Health Research Center, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and a researcher at the Academy of Medical Sciences of Iran, developing a national health observatory system. He also is working with the Ministry of Health on the second National Burden of Disease study, national causes of death data analysis, national social health surveillance system, and planning of national health surveys. He is also working with the University of British Colombia for the Next Generation University.
