Alumni Profile
Jacob Marcus worked on the Demographics: Mortality and Population research team, studying country-level progress toward the Millennium Development Goals to reduce the mortality of children under age 5. Jacob focused his efforts on developing new methods to find out how many deaths are missing from each country’s official record. Jacob’s research at IHME highlights accelerating declines in under-5 mortality in several low-income countries, findings that deserve enhanced policy attention and resources.
While at IHME, Jacob earned his Master in Public Health from the University of Washington. Jacob now lives in San Francisco where he is a Data Scientist at Practice Fusion.
