Alumni Profile
Nancy Fullman worked on the Effective Intervention Coverage research team, focusing on malaria control and helping to create a new model for estimating the number of insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) in countries that have a high burden of malaria. Nancy assisted with the development of a new method for utilizing survey data to estimate actual counts of bed nets at the national level.
In addition, Nancy worked on IHME's Malaria Control Policy Assessment project, which evaluates the relationship between the scale-up of various child health interventions and child health outcomes in two countries. Nancy’s research suggests that recent scale-up in ITN coverage has likely been accompanied by significant reductions in child mortality. Nancy’s research in Malaria will help inform organizations scaling-up malaria prevention programs about effective interventions, as well as serve as a guide for other countries and health initiatives tackling malaria.
Nancy earned her Master of Public Health at the University of Washington and is now an analyst with the Malaria Elimination Initiative at the University of California, San Francisco.
