IHME offers formal, accredited degree programs through the Department of Global Health and Professional Certificates through the Professional and Continuing Education Office of the University of Washington. Degree programs are intended to educate students to become high-functioning public health scholars and professionals with robust quantitative expertise. These degree programs prepare students for careers in academia, health agencies, non-governmental organizations, ministries of health, and other international organizations. Master of Public Health in Health Metrics and Evaluation
The Health Metrics and Evaluation track of the MPH in Global Health is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a traditional public health degree while developing a specialty in the science of health measurement. Students develop skills and expertise to manage health programs and initiatives while being effective global health researchers and leaders.
PhD program in Global Health: Metrics and Implementation Science
The Department of Global Health, in collaboration with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation and Health Alliance International, have developed a PhD program in Global Health that is the first of its kind, building on the expertise of our faculty in the areas of metrics and implementation science. The PhD program provides students with the latest and most innovative tools to advance global health solutions that are critical for decision-making and priority setting.
