IHME’s Ali Mokdad presents at the World Diabetes Congress
Event
Ali Mokdad, Professor of Global Health at IHME, presented on techniques to measure diabetes prevalence at the World Diabetes Congress in Dubai. Dr. Mokdad joined other global health experts in the workshop, “Designing effective national surveillance systems for diabetes and other NCDs,” where he discussed lessons from noncommunicable disease surveillance using telephone surveys.
Hosted by the International Diabetes Foundation, the World Diabetes Congress brought together diabetes experts, delegates from governments, and academics from around the world to exchange information and share new research to address the challenges associated with the increasing prevalence of diabetes in the Middle East and North Africa.
