IHME researchers share study results on Lebanese health costs and services
Event
As part of IHME’s work in gathering accurate, country-specific data to improve policy decisions about population health, two IHME researchers recently shared preliminary study results on Lebanese health cost and service information with health officials and researchers in Lebanon. IHME collected data from over 200 health facilities in the country.
IHME Professor Ali Mokdad and Lecturer Michael Hanlon presented their preliminary analysis at a public meeting in Beirut to over 100 attendees, including fellow researchers at the American University of Beirut, policymakers from both the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labor, and colleagues from the health facilities that participated in the study.
Feedback from meeting participants will contribute toward refining the analysis so that it can help policymakers and facility directors more effectively manage scarce resources for health.
