Collaborator
Fogarty International Center, in Bethesda, MD, is dedicated to advancing the mission of the National Institutes of Health by supporting and facilitating global health research conducted by US and international investigators, building partnerships between health research institutions in the US and abroad, and training the next generation of scientists to address global health needs.
The center has a long history of supporting the various manifestations of disease control priorities efforts. As such, the center has collaborated with IHME on the Disease Control Priorities Network. From 2009 to 2010, researchers from the Fogarty International Center, in conjunction with the University of Witwatersrand, collaborated with IHME on the Priority Cost Effective Lessons for Systems Strengthening (PRICELESS SA) project.
The PRICELESS SA project aimed to apply the Disease Control Priorities Network principles to country settings, specifically South Africa. The collaboration with the Fogarty International Center has complemented ongoing activities related to cost effectiveness and the research and development of priority interventions.
