The National Institute of Drug Dependence researches laboratory and preclinical trials of drug dependence, mechanism and clinical research of drug dependence, epidemiologic studies of drug abuse, surveillance of drug abuse in China, and information study of drug dependence.
In 2011, the National Institute of Drug Dependence provided an essential translation of the Health Measurement Survey for the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2010.
This translation allowed the study to be made available to a much larger audience in China. The survey collects information that will be used to update health state severity weights critical to the final estimation of burden of disease estimates for over 200 conditions and approximately 40 risk factors.
