PROESA – Research Center for Social Protection and Health Economics
Collaborator
PROESA - Research Center for Social Protection and Health Economics, in Cali, Colombia, conducts high-quality research and generates relevant evidence for policymaking on social protection and health economics both at the national and international levels.
As part of the Disease Control Priorities Network and the Access, Bottlenecks, Costs, and Equity Project, IHME and PROESA began in 2011 to jointly assess the costs of health care in Colombia, using a range of existing databases. Research teams are also developing plans to check the completeness of facility information in the databases through the potential limited implementation of focused facility surveys.
Finally, the IHME and PROESA teams hope to jointly explore estimation of maternal health indicators and cancer deaths using small area estimation.
