The University of Florida in Gainesville is a major public, comprehensive, land-grant, research university. The state's oldest and most comprehensive university, the university is among the nation's most academically diverse public universities.
In 2010, the University of Florida (UF) was represented on the advisory panel for the Malaria Control Policy Assessment in Zambia. Members of the advisory panel met to offer ideas about how to best use potentially available data and what methods might be brought to bear on the data.
UF faculty continues to offer expertise on geographic information system (GIS) and spatial analysis, both potentially important to understanding local variations in malaria within countries.
