The University of Washington School of Pharmacy is dedicated to educational experiences and programs that produce highly skilled pharmacists and researchers, breakthrough faculty research that improves knowledge in drug discovery and safety, and innovative community-health initiatives that enhance public health.
The University of Washington, School of Pharmacy is collaborating with IHME on the Monitoring Disparities in Chronic Conditions Study, funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
The aim of this project is to create an integrated surveillance system by supplementing existing health records with household surveys and physical examinations in order to understand the differences in chronic conditions between different populations.
The team at the School of Pharmacy brings their expertise in pharmaceutical analysis to the project. The project will measure medication adherence by comparing pharmaceutical records to results from the analysis of blood samples collected in physical exams for the study.
