Global Burden of Disease Phone Survey![]() Please visit www.globalburden.org or email info@globalburden.org for more information. If you have additional questions, please call the GBD research team at 206-897-2859. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington is conducting a telephone survey as part of the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2010 (GBD Study 2010). This survey will help us understand how people think about different types of health problems and help researchers measure the impact of different diseases and injuries on people’s health in the US and around the world. IHME has contracted with ICF Macro, a health research company, to randomly select and survey households across the US. IHME provided the area code and three-digit prefix in order to identify specific regions to participate in the survey. ICF Macro computers then randomly selected the last four digits of phone numbers to call. Taking part in this survey or answering any of the questions is voluntary and completely anonymous. The survey will take 15-20 minutes and includes a series of questions comparing different health problems. If you choose to participate in this survey, please be assured that there is no identifying information gathered during this study. Telephone numbers will be removed from the survey data prior to analysis. IHME is working in conjunction with Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Queensland, and the World Health Organization on this study. The results of the GBD Study will be available in November 2010. |
