Decision Analytics

IHME strives to put useful quantitative decision-making tools in the hands of policymakers. We are developing and applying methods to create standardized time-series estimates for select health, social, and economic, for all countries, as well as estimating the cost-effectiveness of health service delivery platforms and interventions. The estimates we develop are used across IHME research areas and are also available to the wider research community. Our methods generate better forward-looking and cross-cutting information that helps policymakers to target funds to areas where they will have the greatest impact on both overall health outcomes and equity. Additionally, we are undertaking the next iteration of the Disease Control Priorities Network Project, in collaboration with a number of institutions. Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, this major project will involve work on cost-effectiveness, priority setting, and the development of a network of researchers who are trained to apply this priority-setting framework in different settings.
