John-Arne Røttingen
John-Arne Røttingen is Director General of the Norwegian Knowledge Centre for the Health Services. Dr. Røttingen previously worked as an associate professor/thematic leader at the Institute for Nutrition Research, Department Group of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, and as research coordinator at the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Division for Infectious Disease Control, Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Dr. Røttingen is Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Imperial College School of Medicine in London. Dr. Røttingen was a PhD student at the Department of Physiology and the Biotechnology Centre in Oslo. He was then a Norway Oxford Scholar at Wadham College, Oxford University and the Wellcome Trust Centre for the Epidemiology of Infectious Disease. Later Dr. Røttingen was assistant director and afterwards – acting director of the Foundation for Health Services Research (HELTEF), in combination with a postdoctoral position at the Department of Physiology. In January 2004 the activities at HELTEF were transferred to the Norwegian Knowledge Centre for the Health Services. Dr. Røttingen coordinated one of the thematic research areas of the faculty – GLOBINF – Centre for Prevention of Global Infections, and established Forskerlinjen – the medical research curriculum – at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo. |
